Notes

'Jacob' black hellebore (Helleborus niger 'Jacob') is a perennial for shade gardens, woodland settings, winter interest, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry to average soil. It is a Christmas rose type with single white flowers that open from November into winter. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Keep pets and children away from it, since all parts are toxic.

Pairs well with Victory hosta, Autumn crocus, and Canadian white violet.
