Notes
'Amazon Neon Purple' dianthus (Dianthus barbatus 'Amazon Neon Purple') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy or loamy soil. Fragrant purple and green flowers open in early to late spring on long, tough stems. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. Bees, butterflies, hummingbirds, and birds all visit the blooms.
Pairs well with Johnny jump up, Ornamental onion, Red Charm peony, and Abiqua Drinking Gourd hosta.
