Notes

'Amoena' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Amoena') is a shrub for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Kelway bred it. Its woody stems stay above ground through winter, so avoid cutting the whole plant to the ground in fall. Cut the flowers for indoor vases.

Pairs well with Elegans hosta, Obsidian coral bells, and Stargazer lily.
