Notes

Anise-scented sage (Salvia guaranitica) is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Deep blue flowers with purple-blue calyces appear in summer and again in autumn, and hummingbirds, butterflies, and bees visit them. Deer rarely make it their first choice. The fragrant leaves form a fast-growing mound.

Pairs well with Bishop of Llandaff dahlia, Lemongrass, and Snapdragon.
