Notes
'Black and Blue' anise-scented sage (Salvia guaranitica 'Black and Blue') is a perennial for borders, pollinator gardens, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. Butterflies, hummingbirds, bees, and birds visit the deep blue blooms in summer and again in autumn. It sits low on the menu for deer. Once settled in, it tolerates drought.
Pairs well with Bishop of Llandaff dahlia, Vermillionaire cuphea, and Lemongrass.
