Notes

'Antoine Poiteau' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Antoine Poiteau') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Fragrant white blooms shade to lilac and open in early summer. The flowers have crimson flecks at the center. Modeste Guérin bred it in 1845, and the long, strong stems make good cut flowers.

Pairs well with Siberian iris, Wild bergamot, and Sedge.
