Notes

'Apache Warrior' peony (Paeonia 'Apache Warrior') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its big, single, wine-red blooms are fragrant, and bees and butterflies visit them. William Henry Krekler bred it. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by.

Pairs well with Butterfly milkweed, Prairie dropseed, Nodding onion, and Maiden pink.
