Notes
'Aqua' Dutch crocus (Crocus vernus 'Aqua') is a bulb for borders, containers, and rock gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun. Cobalt blue buds open to lavender-blue flowers with bright orange stamens in early to late spring. It is vigorous, easy to grow, and multiplies quickly. You can plant it in a lawn, but hold off on mowing as long as you can so the bulbs build up energy for next year.
Pairs well with Red Riding Hood tulip, Ice Follies daffodil, and Little bluestem.
