Notes
'Arctic Rose' camellia (Camellia williamsii 'Arctic Rose') is a shrub for specimen planting, hedges, espaliers, and containers. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and moist soil. Large, semi-double, deep pink to rose-red flowers open from late winter to early spring above glossy, dark green evergreen leaves. Deer rarely make it their first choice. Plant it in a protected spot.
Pairs well with Wedding Gown bigleaf hydrangea, Francee hosta, Ostrich fern, and Aureola Japanese forest grass.
