Notes

'Ariel' plum (Prunus domestica 'Ariel') is a tree for food gardens and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun and average to moist soil. It blooms in early to late spring, and bees and butterflies visit the flowers. The tree is self-fertile, so one is enough for a crop of fruit that is grown for fresh eating. SLU Alnarp bred it in 1959.

Pairs well with Gala apple, Gladiator ornamental onion, and Royal fern.
