Notes
'Ashland' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Ashland') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The Japanese type flowers have rosy pink outer petals and red staminodes tipped white. The stigmas are pink, so each bloom shows contrasting colors.
Pairs well with Knapweed, Carlton daffodil, Shrub rose, and Kentucky bluegrass.
