Notes
'Astarte' tulip (Tulipa 'Astarte') is a bulb for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and average moisture. The flowers are Morocco red edged with bronze, and they bloom from early to late spring. Cut the stems in spring to bring the red blooms indoors. Tubergen bred it.
Pairs well with Bridal Crown daffodil, Claire de Lune peony, August Moon hosta, and Little bluestem.
