Notes

'August Moon' hosta (Hosta 'August Moon') is a perennial for shade gardens, borders, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun to full shade and average to moist, loamy, clay, or chalky soil. It bears fragrant, pale lavender to white flowers that draw butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer and rabbits rarely make it their first choice. Plant it where you want a tidy mound of leaves, since it spreads at least 24 inches wide.

Pairs well with Sensitive fern, Eastern columbine, Sedge, and Phantom panicle hydrangea.
