Notes
'Astra Pink' balloon flower (Platycodon grandiflorus 'Astra Pink') is a perennial for borders, containers, rock gardens, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Deer tend to browse other plants first. It stays small, at 6 to 12 inches tall and 6 to 9 inches wide, and forms a tidy clump. Pink flowers open in early to late spring and again in early to late summer.
Pairs well with Kansas peony, Carlton daffodil, and Creeping juniper.
