Notes

'Atlas' peony (Paeonia 'Atlas') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Dark red double blooms are fragrant and sit on stiff, strong stems that stand straight. Ben Gilbertson bred it, and the red never shows magenta. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first.

Pairs well with White Feather hosta, Paprika yarrow, and Little bluestem.
