Notes

'Auguste Dessert' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Auguste Dessert') is a perennial for borders and perennial beds, and it also makes a fair cut flower. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The large double blooms open in mid to late spring in cherry-red with mauve shading and narrow silvery edges. Its bold color makes a strong accent in the garden. 'Auguste Dessert' bred it.

Pairs well with Purrsian Blue nepeta, Incrediball Storm Proof smooth hydrangea, and Compass plant.
