Notes

'Autumn Sunset' peony (Paeonia 'Autumn Sunset') is a shrub for borders, cottage gardens, specimens, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Golden-yellow flowers with red shading open on long stems in early to late spring and attract butterflies. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. John and Dot McFarlane introduced it in 2002.

Pairs well with Royal Purple smoketree, Balloon flower, and Stargazer lily.
