Notes

'Ave Maria' camellia (Camellia japonica 'Ave Maria') is a shrub for borders, hedges, containers, and woodland gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes part sun and average to wet, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows slowly into a tall, columnar evergreen that tolerates salt, and bees and birds visit it. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Give it room to reach its full size.

Pairs well with Wax myrtle, Cardinal flower, and Society garlic.
