Notes
'Aya-nishiki' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Aya-nishiki') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The woody stems stay through winter, so you can leave them in place and prune only dead wood.
Pairs well with Siberian iris, New England aster, Standing Ovation little bluestem, and Pink Impression tulip.
