Notes

'Azurit' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Azurit') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade, average moisture, and loamy soil. The fragrant, cupped, semi-double flowers open lilac-pink with violet-red flares in early to mid spring. Petals fade to white as they age. Rieck bred it, and it stays small, so it suits a small garden.

Pairs well with Blue star, Stargazer lily, and Big bluestem.
