Notes

'Baron Thyssen Bornemisza' tree peony (Paeonia suffruticosa 'Baron Thyssen Bornemisza') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears large mauve semi-double flowers with flares, about 10 inches across, in late spring. The stems have good strength, so the blooms hold up well when cut.

Pairs well with Elegans hosta, Cinnamon fern, Pink Impression tulip, and Anglojap yew.
