Notes

'Baumann's Reinette' apple (Malus domestica 'Baumann's Reinette') is a tree for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Van Mons bred it in 1811. It blooms in early to late spring, and the flowers attract bees. This tree is not self-fertile, so plant a second apple nearby for pollination.

Pairs well with Cat mint, Pink Lemonade blueberry, and Bowl of Cream peony.
