Notes

'Jonagold' apple (Malus domestica 'Jonagold') is a tree for food gardens, pollinator gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It is grown for fresh eating, cooking, juice, and hard cider. The New York State Agricultural Experiment Station bred it in 1943. You need two other compatible apple varieties nearby, because it is not self-fertile.

Pairs well with Blueberry, Munstead lavender, Garlic chives, and African marigold.
