Bea's Choice peony (Paeonia lactiflora Bea's Choice) is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The double blooms open in mid to late spring with strawberry red outer petals and a red and cream center. The cream fades to white, and each stem carries 2 to 3 buds.
Pairs well with White Feather hosta, Prairie dropseed, and Immortality iris.
