Notes
'Bélisaire' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Bélisaire') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Lemoine bred it in 1907. The pale lilac blooms are flecked with crimson and open in mid-season on strong red stems. The flowers make good cuts.
Pairs well with Indian grass, Lupine, and Phantom panicle hydrangea.
