Notes

'Belle Center' peony (Paeonia 'Belle Center') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Walter Z. Mains bred this peony, which has huge, almost full double blooms in medium red with a blue tone. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. The flowers open early.

Pairs well with Fire and Ice hosta, Blue grama, and Cheerfulness daffodil.
