Notes

'Ben Erickson' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Ben Erickson') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The double red blooms are 5 to 6 inches wide and show bright yellow stamens. They open in early summer on fairly strong stems. Robert William Tischler bred it.

Pairs well with Purrsian Blue nepeta, Aromatic aster, and Tall fescue.
