Notes

'Berner Rosen' apple (Malus domestica 'Berner Rosen') is a tree for the food garden, grown for fresh eating and juice. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Mr Daepp bred it in 1888. The fruit is a medium-sized green apple with a deep orange and red flush. Bees visit the spring blooms, and you need a second apple tree nearby for pollination.

Pairs well with Raspberry, Prairie dropseed, and Tickseed.
