Notes

'Bertrade' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Bertrade') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Victor Lemoine bred it. The large, double white blooms have a yellow shade at the base of the petals and a symmetrical crown when fully open. The stems are stiff, and the plant needs time to become established before it shows its true character.

Pairs well with Purrsian Blue nepeta, Hairy aster, and Royal fern.
