Notes

'Betsy Ross' lilac (Syringa oblata 'Betsy Ross') is a shrub for borders, hedges, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full sun and dry to moist soil of most types. It blooms in early to late spring with fragrant flowers that attract butterflies, hummingbirds, and bees. Deer and rabbits tend to browse other plants first. It grows about 122 to 146 inches tall and wide, so give it room.

Pairs well with Double Play Doozie spirea, China Town tulip, False Solomon's seal, and Aromatic aster.
