Notes

'Betty' magnolia (Magnolia 'Betty') is a shrub for specimen planting, cottage gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Reddish-purple flowers with white insides open in early to late spring. The blooms are fragrant and attract bees, and birds also visit the plant. It can grow up to 180 inches tall and wide, so give it room.

Pairs well with Golden Tiara hosta, Christmas fern, and Black Parrot tulip.
