Notes

'Jane' magnolia (Magnolia 'Jane') is a shrub for borders, specimen planting, containers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It forms a mounding shrub with fragrant pink and purple flowers in early to late spring. Bees and birds visit it. It is a compact cross between a star magnolia and a lily magnolia.

Pairs well with June hosta, Bobo hydrangea, Carnaval De Nice tulip, and Christmas fern.
