Notes

'Gold Star' magnolia (Magnolia 'Gold Star') is a tree for specimen planting, borders, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Its creamy yellow, tulip-like to starry flowers can reach four inches across and open before the bronze new leaves emerge. The tree grows in a neat pyramid shape and draws bees and birds.

Pairs well with Japanese forest grass, First Frost hosta, and Ornamental onion.
