Notes
'Big Jhonny' peony (Paeonia 'Big Jhonny') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. Its large, fragrant, semi-double flowers have pale pink outer petals and frilled, creamy-apricot centers on self-supporting stems to 30 inches. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Bees and butterflies visit the blooms.
Pairs well with June hosta, Spiked speedwell, and Standing Ovation little bluestem.
