Notes

'Bigun' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Bigun') is an upright perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears huge, wine red, heavy double blooms on tall stems. William Henry Krekler bred it in 1977.

Pairs well with American Gold Rush black-eyed Susan, Incrediball hydrangea, and Tall fescue.
