Notes

Bishop's hat (Epimedium sempervirens) is a perennial for shade gardens, ground cover, borders, and winter interest. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes part sun to full shade and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. It forms a moderate-growing clump of green and red-burgundy leaves, and white flowers open from early to late spring.
