Notes

'Black Peony Poppy' poppy (Papaver somniferum 'Black Peony Poppy') is an annual for borders, cut flowers, and containers. It handles cool weather and a light frost. This plant likes full or part sun. It grows 36 to 48 inches tall, so it adds height at the back of a border. Butterflies and bees visit the flowers, and the plant tolerates drought. That makes it a good pick for a dry, sunny bed.

Pairs well with Snapdragon, Karl Foerster feather reed grass, and Silver sage.
