Notes

'Blue Moon' poppy (Papaver somniferum 'Blue Moon') is an annual for borders and low maintenance gardens. Cool weather suits it, and it can take a light frost. This plant likes full or part sun and dry to moist, sandy, loamy, or chalky soil. It blooms from early to late summer and draws butterflies and bees. It also tolerates drought, so you can skip frequent watering. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything.

Pairs well with Ostfriesland sage, Purple Sensation ornamental onion, and Lady's mantle.
