Notes

'Blue River' rose (Rosa 'Blue River') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full sun and loamy or clay soil. Kordes bred it, and Horstmann introduced it in 1974. The fragrant mauve flowers open in late spring, again in summer, and into early autumn. Bees visit the blooms, and the glossy green leaves form an upright plant.

Pairs well with Bigleaf hydrangea, Obedient plant, and Lily.
