Notes

'Bluebird' mountain hydrangea (Hydrangea serrata 'Bluebird') is a shrub for borders, containers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 6, or down to -10°F (-23°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, sandy, loamy, or clay soil. It grows in a clumping form that reaches about 35 to 47 inches tall and wide. Bees visit the flowers, which open in summer and again in autumn.

Pairs well with Beni-Maiko Japanese maple, Wide Brim hosta, and Japanese forest grass.
