Notes

Bluff lettuce (Dudleya farinosa) is a succulent for borders, containers, and ground cover. It grows outdoors year-round in USDA zone 9 and warmer, down to about 20°F (-7°C). In colder areas, grow it as a houseplant or bring it indoors for winter. This plant likes part sun or part shade and dry, sandy or loamy soil. Candelabra-like clusters of small, lemon-yellow flowers rise on whitish stalks above dense rosettes. Deer tend to pass it by. It often forms a large mat, so give it room.

Pairs well with Broad-leaf stonecrop, Seaside daisy, and Dwarf chapparal-broom.
