Notes

Dwarf chapparal-broom (Baccharis pilularis) is a shrub for ground cover, hedges, and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 8, or down to 10°F (-12°C). This plant likes full sun to part shade and dry to average, sandy soil. It grows fast and can mature in 1-2 years, and it is evergreen with shiny green leaves. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Butterflies, bees, and birds visit the small flowers.

Pairs well with White sage, Jojoba, and Wallflower.
