Notes

'Bokuhan' camellia (Camellia japonica 'Bokuhan') is a shrub for borders, woodland gardens, and pollinator gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 7, or down to 0°F (-18°C). This plant likes part sun and average to wet soil. It is a slow-growing, columnar evergreen that tolerates salt, and bees and birds visit the blooms in winter and spring. It is not a favorite of deer, though hungry deer will eat almost anything. Give it a spot where its narrow shape can stand out.

Pairs well with Wax myrtle, Asiatic jasmine, and Obedient plant.
