Notes

'Boldog' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Boldog') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and perennial beds. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. The reddish-purple flowers face upward and have twisted, frilled guard petals. Plants reach about 30 inches tall and grow upright, so they do not need staking.

Pairs well with Pearly everlasting, Carnaval De Nice tulip, and Cinnamon fern.
