Notes
'Bonus' blueberry (Vaccinium corymbosum 'Bonus') is a shrub for the food garden. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average moisture. White, bell-shaped flowers open in late spring, which helps them miss late frosts. The large, light blue berries ripen in late summer and are grown for jams, jellies, juices, baking, freezing, and fresh eating. Planting a second variety nearby gives you larger berries and a bigger yield.
Pairs well with Snowberry, Tree peony, Grape hyacinth, and Anglojap yew.
