Notes

Border forsythia (Forsythia intermedia) is a shrub for hedges and low maintenance gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 5, or down to -20°F (-29°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist soil of most types. Yellow flowers open in early to late spring and attract bees, and birds visit the shrub too. Deer usually look elsewhere for a meal. Give it room to spread, and it also tolerates drought.

Pairs well with Armenian grape hyacinth, Common cowslip, and Wood forget-me-not.
