Notes

'Border Guard' peony (Paeonia 'Border Guard') is a perennial for borders, cut flowers, and cottage gardens. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It forms a dense, bushy mound with single, fragrant flowers in a deep, clear red. Deer and rabbits tend to pass it by. William Henry Krekler bred it.

Pairs well with Dense blazing star, Blonde Ambition blue grama, and Pink Impression tulip.
