Notes

'Boulder Blue' blue fescue (Festuca glauca 'Boulder Blue') is a grass for borders, rock gardens, and foundation plantings. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and dry to average soil. Light brown flowers appear in spring and again in summer, and butterflies visit them. Deer rarely make it their first choice. It forms a clumping mound up to 9 inches tall and wide.

Pairs well with Balloon flower, Prairie dropseed, and Black Parrot tulip.
