Notes

'Boutonniere' peony (Paeonia 'Boutonniere') is a shrub for borders, cut flowers, cottage gardens, and specimen planting. It is hardy to USDA zone 4, or down to -30°F (-34°C). This plant likes full or part sun and average to moist, loamy soil. Large, frilled, fragrant flowers are white with lavender undertones and purple flares, and they open in early to late spring. It is not a favorite of deer or rabbits, though hungry ones will eat almost anything. Harold Entsminger bred it.

Pairs well with Balloon flower, Blue fescue, and Stargazer lily.
