'Brand’s Magnificent' peony (Paeonia lactiflora 'Brand’s Magnificent') is a perennial for borders, perennial beds, and cut flowers. It is hardy to USDA zone 3, or down to -40°F (-40°C). This plant likes full or part sun, average moisture, and loamy soil. It bears large, double, crimson flowers with a purple cast in late spring. The blooms are not fragrant. Strong stems hold the flowers up, and the foliage looks good all season.
Pairs well with Spanish bluebell, Sensitive fern, and Foxtail barley.
